Open Access, Copyright and Licensing Policy

Open Access

The Eurasian Journal of Soil Science (EJSS) is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication, without subscription, registration or payment. EJSS supports the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

Licence

All articles published in EJSS are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this licence, anyone may copy, distribute, display, adapt and build upon the work, in any medium and for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided that:

  • the original authors and source are properly credited,

  • a link to the licence is provided,

  • any changes made to the work are indicated.

Reuse must not suggest that the authors, the journal or the publisher endorse the user or the way the work is used.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their articles without restriction.

Upon acceptance, the corresponding author signs the Licence to Publish Agreement on behalf of all authors. This agreement grants the Federation of Eurasian Soil Science Societies (FESSS) a non-exclusive licence to:

  • publish the article and identify FESSS as its original publisher,

  • register and maintain the DOI and metadata of the article,

  • distribute the version of record,

  • deposit the article in indexing services and archives for long-term preservation.

Copyright and Licence Statement

Every published article carries the following statement:

© [Year] The Author(s). Published by FESSS. Open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Third-Party Material

Images, figures, tables or other material from third parties are covered by the article’s CC BY 4.0 licence unless the credit line states otherwise. Where material is excluded from the licence, users must obtain permission directly from the rights holder before reuse. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to include third-party material in their articles.

Self-Archiving and Sharing

EJSS imposes no embargo. Authors may deposit any version of their article in institutional or subject repositories, on personal or institutional websites and in repositories required by their funders, at any time:

  • Submitted version (preprint): the manuscript as originally submitted, before peer review.

  • Accepted version (author’s accepted manuscript): the manuscript after peer review and acceptance, before copy-editing and typesetting.

  • Published version (version of record): the final typeset article as published in EJSS.

The deposited version must be clearly identified. Wherever possible, it must include a link to the published article and its DOI. When citing the work, the version of record should be cited.

Publication Charges

Information on publication charges is provided on the Publication Charges page.

Digital Preservation

Information on the long-term preservation of published content is provided on the Publishing Schedule and Digital Preservation page.

Responsible Reuse

Open access does not remove the obligation to cite the source correctly, respect the moral rights of the authors, indicate any modifications and observe legal or ethical restrictions that apply to particular data or third-party content.
